About the awards

The Africa Wealth and Society Awards Programme seeks to recognise high and ultra-high net-worth individuals who use their wealth to bring about positive impacts on the society that they operate in, and the institutions that help them do so.

The wealthy have an important role in the development of society. Around the world opportunities for wealth are being created in new ways.

The growth of wealth in different societies can be a force for good. The wealthy can have a positive impact on the sustainability and progress of the society that they are in.

We have developed a London-based programme called “Wealth and Society” to identify ways in which the wealthy have been actively involved in the development of their respective societies, industries and the world at large.

We measure wealth not by the people who are wealthy but by the people who are useful to the society they operate in.

THE AWARDS

The Africa Wealth and Society Awards Programme seeks to recognise high and ultra-high net-worth individuals who invest and deploy their wealth in ways to bring about positive impacts on the society that they operate in, and the institutions and providers that enable them do so. Each award category is evaluated at both the global and country level. The awards programme is divided into the following categories:
