Along with his wife Marty, he is co-founder of the Cordes Foundation and co-chair of the Opportunity Collaboration, a global poverty business retreat. He is also a regent of the University of the Pacific as well as chairman of the Advisory Board for the University’s Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship, and serves on the Board of FairTrade USA, MicroVest Holdings, the Sarona Frontier Markets Fund, and the East Bay Community Foundation.

Gender equality

Annually allocate a portion of their assets to convene and build partnerships with social enterprises, and provide support to organizations working on gender equality and the economic advancement of women. With a particular focus on the global $2.4 trillion fashion industry (McKinsey 2016) and the women that make up the majority of its manufacturing workforce who are often especially vulnerable to low wage levels due to the persistent gender pay gap (Boston Consulting 2016).
