Bank of Singapore expands private markets offering with Asia-Pacific Data Centre Fund
Bank of Singapore expanded its private markets product suite, availing the Keppel Data Centres S64 Access Fund SP9 (the "Fund") to clients during a limited subscription period.
The specially structured Fund was originated by and exclusively distributed through Bank of Singapore, providing clients with access to Keppel's third data centre fund, Keppel Data Centre Fund III (KDCF III), together with tailored access to select data centre investment opportunities. This offers clients exposure to a diversified portfolio of institutional-quality data centre assets across the Asia-Pacific region.
The offering, which has since closed, was among the most successful closed-ended offerings by the Bank in years, reflecting strong investor conviction in digital infrastructure as a long-term growth theme. Data centres in particular, have been one of the most sought-after infrastructure asset classes recently, underpinned by growing demand for AI computing, cloud services and enterprise digital transformation.
The Fund's Asia-Pacific exposure includes Singapore, one of the world’s most supply-constrained data centre markets. The Singapore data centre market is projected to expand from $3.25 billion in 2025 to $5.11 billion by 2031, according to a report by market research firm Arizton Advisory & Intelligence.
The strategy is supported by Keppel's integrated platform spanning data centres, energy, cooling and connectivity infrastructure, as well as its established track record in developing and operating data centres across the region. Keppel’s connectivity Funds under Management (FUM) has grown to SGD 18 billion ($14.07 billion) as at end-Sep 2026, supported by a portfolio of 39 data centre assets across Asia Pacific and Europe with over 900 MW of gross power capacity. Further underscoring the strength of its growth pipeline, Keppel was one of four companies that was provisionally awarded 50MW of new data centre capacity under Singapore's second Data Centre Call for Application exercise in August 2026, which attracted over 20 proposals. The award will support the development of Keppel’s newest data centre in Singapore – Keppel Data Centre Singapore 11, an AI-ready data centre on Jurong Island, with an expected investment of more than SGD 1 billion ($782,000).
Enhancing client access to alternatives
This offering reflects Bank of Singapore's commitment to providing clients with differentiated investment opportunities, including access to high-quality private market and hedge fund strategies, amongst other alternatives. Other examples over the past two years include the Veritas Capital Fund IX, Coller Private Equity Secondaries Fund and PIMCO Absolute Return Strategy Fund IV. Such offerings are designed to enhance portfolio diversification, capture long-term structural growth trends and dampen overall portfolio volatility.
Jean Chia, Global Chief Investment Officer, Bank of Singapore, said: "Private markets are becoming an increasingly important component of client portfolios as investors seek greater diversification, resilience and access to long-term structural growth opportunities beyond public markets. We continue to see strong demand for differentiated alternative investments, particularly those backed by compelling secular themes and high-quality operators. The Keppel Data Centres S64 Access Fund reflects our approach of providing clients with exclusive access to institutional-quality opportunities that are aligned with some of the most transformative trends shaping the global economy."
