Indosuez Wealth Management adds senior bankers for North Asia, part of strategy for sustained growth in Asia

5 min read

Singapore, 8 March 2024 – Indosuez Wealth Management (Indosuez), the global wealth management brand of Crédit Agricole Group, welcomes two senior bankers to its North Asia team. Their appointments are part of the bank’s strategy to strengthen its position in Asia by establishing teams with strong expertise to better serve specific client segments.

The two appointments are:

  • Hank Chiu, Executive Director
  • Renee Wu, Senior Director

Hank comes on board with more than 20 years of experience in wealth management. Early in his career, he was based in Taiwan where he specialised in the priority banking segment, focusing on building the investment portfolios of High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWI). Hank also assumed senior roles at UBS Wealth Management and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management over the past 17 years, both in Singapore. Through his new appointment, Hank will assume senior coverage responsibilities for key Taiwanese clients.

Renee has almost two decades of banking experience in Taiwan. Prior to joining Indosuez, Renee was Senior Vice President of the private banking division at Taipei Fubon Bank where she played a critical role in High-Net-Worth client acquisitions. Her previous responsibilities included managing teams at ANZ Bank, as well as Citibank. Renee’s addition will greatly boost the North Asia coverage of the team.

Amidst an ever-evolving financial landscape, Hank’s and Renee’s appointments reinforce Indosuez’s bespoke approach for wealth management client servicing in Asia. The North Asia team in the Singapore branch plans to double its business by 2025 as part of its three-year plan.

Commenting on his enhanced team, Alfred Low, Head of North Asia & Strategic Partnerships shared, “We are excited to have Hank and Renee on board; I am confident their expertise and experience will bolster the team’s presence in the North Asia market. This expansion is in line with our dedicated strategy for Taiwan and the region as we sharpen our focus to provide customised wealth management solutions including supporting generational wealth transfer. With Hank and Renee’s deep experience, we will be ideally positioned to bring the full suite of private banking solutions and the full platform of the Crédit Agricole Group to key clients in the region.”

Omar Shokur, CEO, Asia, said, “Asia is a burgeoning economy where wealth creation continues at a fast pace and clients are keen to protect and grow their wealth. As the private bank brand of the Crédit Agricole Group, which is one of the largest financial groups globally, Indosuez offers our clients a tailor-made service combined with assurance and peace of mind.”

“We have been investing rigorously into the restructuring and strengthening of our Asia teams with the onboarding of senior bankers and product specialists over the last two years, to serve specific market segments and ensure that clients receive optimal service. We have been laying the groundwork for our teams even as the world was battling the pandemic, affirming Indosuez’s long-standing commitment and confidence in Asia’s economic dynamism.”
