KGI appoints managing director to boost wealth management in Asia
KGI, a leading regional financial institution in Asia, has appointed Aaron Long as managing director for wealth management.
This milestone supports the company’s strategic expansion of its wealth management business and reaffirms KGI’s commitment to bespoke, holistic and client-centric solutions for high-networth clients across the region.
Long will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to James Wey, head of international wealth management. He will lead initiatives to strengthen KGI’s wealth advisory practice, accelerate distribution across wealth-related products, and develop integrated solutions for clients’ sophisticated needs.

Long brings extensive experience from senior roles at HSBC, Manulife, AIG and Aflac across both China and the United States. In recent years, he dedicated five years to scaling HSBC China’s wealth management business and, in 2022, he founded and served as the inaugural CEO of HSBC life insurance brokerage firm, scaling wealth operations. He holds a master’s degree in actuarial science from Georgia State University and has been a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) since 2006.
This appointment reflects KGI’s investment in its position as a leading regional wealth management house in Asia, delivering sophisticated wealth planning advisory solutions for high-networth clients in Asia.
