Rothschild Financial Partners launches partner-owned RIA

5 min read

Rothschild Wealth Partners and Singularity Financial Partners have launched Rothschild Financial Partners, a partner-owned registered investment adviser (RIA) designed to give established advisers ownership of their practices while providing shared technology, operations and succession support.

Established advisors have long faced a trade-off: stay independent and run technology, operations and growth alone, or join a larger firm and fit the practice to its model. Rothschild Financial Partners was formed so that an advisor does not have to choose. It has no private-equity capital, it is owned by its partners, and it is built on a Chicago firm whose roots trace to 1908.

"Every advisor who built a practice wears two hats, practitioner and owner, and most firms serve one at the expense of the other," said Michael Roth, Chief Executive Officer of Rothschild Financial Partners. "We built this firm to augment the first and maximise the second. The practitioner gets an operating company behind the practice. The owner gets paid for what they built and equity in what we build next."

Built on a 118-year foundation

Four years ago, the next generation of leadership at Rothschild Wealth Partners reorganised the firm's ownership around its clients, advisors and executives, and the firm has since grown from $2.5 billion to more than $10 billion of enterprise-wide assets. Rothschild Financial Partners is what that leadership built next, on the same foundation and with the same operating staff and standards, this time with the founders of Singularity: the operators and engineers who built RetireUp, Finance Logix and Invent.

Two roles for every partner

Every advisor who joins is a partner in the firm. As a practitioner, a partner keeps their clients and their team; the firm runs the operations, compliance, trading and technology behind the practice and puts new client opportunities in front of the partner. As an owner, a partner is paid for the practice they built and holds equity in the firm they are now building, so the growth of the enterprise becomes theirs as well.

How the firm runs

Singularity Financial Partners, working with Rothschild Wealth Partners, built the operating infrastructure behind the firm: proprietary technology, business development, operations, compliance, trading and a specialist bench in estate, tax, insurance, business succession, retirement plans and a multi-family office, under one roof, built by partners in the firm and never sold to anyone else. The technology is built inside the firm, around how each partner works, rather than purchased and adapted to it. Every process runs through the system and is measured, so the best way a partner does something becomes the way every partner can do it, and it stays with the firm when a partner retires. What the partners teach it stays inside the firm, and the partners own the firm.

"AI will either erode a wealth firm or enhance it," said Mac O'Brien, Chief Growth Officer of Rothschild Financial Partners and Rothschild Wealth Partners. "The difference is whether it is built inside the firm, around its people, or sold to it. We build ours inside. Rothschild Wealth Partners, whose roots trace to 1908, has spent considerable time and effort earning clients' trust. Everything we build sits on top of that trust, and the partners participate in the results."

The firm is for established advisors and firm owners planning their next decade: growth, succession and what their life's work is ultimately worth. Three partner firms have joined since September 2026, with more expected by year-end, and each will be introduced in the coming weeks.
