Wells Fargo introduces AI assistant for wealth advisers
Wells Fargo announced the launch of AI Teammate, a new artificial intelligence (AI)–powered capability embedded within Adviser gateway that helps streamline how financial advisors, client associates, and support teams access information and complete everyday work.
AI Teammate is part of Wells Fargo’s broader effort to apply AI in practical, high-impact ways for the benefit of advisors. By connecting advisers to the information, tools, and workflows they use every day, AI Teammate helps reduce friction, accelerate decision-making, and enable more time for client engagement.
Over time, capabilities will expand to help advisers uncover new opportunities, prepare for client conversations with personalised insights, and focus on the actions that can strengthen client relationships and support practice growth. AI Teammate will be available to financial advisers across all Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) adviser channels, including independent advisors who are part of Wells Fargo Advisers Financial Network, “FiNet.”
“We are making significant investments in AI and technology to empower advisers, grow client relationships, and gain market share,” said Sol Gindi, head of the WIM Client Relationship Group and Wells Fargo Advisers. “AI Teammate builds on the foundation of Adviser Gateway and represents an important step in our broader vision for AI. We have a pipeline of additional AI tools in development that are all geared to helping our people focus on clients, deepen relationships, and deliver everything Wells Fargo has to offer more effectively.”
AI Teammate introduces a chat-based experience embedded within the firm’s central technology platform, Adviser gateway. It enables users to ask questions in plain language, retrieve answers quickly and take action.
In its initial phase, AI Teammate helps teams search and summarise information from WFA’s core resource centre to:
- Find answers faster with plain-language search
- Quickly summarise product, process and workflow information
- Move work forward with guided workflows and clear next steps
- Spend less time navigating multiple pages by bringing relevant information together in one place
This approach reflects a broader industry shift toward simplifying the adviser experience by applying AI to remove friction from high-frequency tasks and improve day-to-day productivity.
“By embedding AI into natural workflow entry points, we can help our teams work more efficiently and make better use of the insights available to them,” said Andre Mansour, head of WIM AI.
“AI Teammate advances the progress we’ve made in delivering a more seamless and intuitive advisor experience,” said Eve Varner, head of the WIM Chief Product Office. “It’s about making the tools advisors use every day more connected, more useful, and ultimately more effective in helping them serve clients.”
